‘Weaning’ in the UK, which is the meaning used in this blog, means the process of introducing solids to a baby. In this context, it does not mean to stop breastfeeding.
‘Baby-led weaning’, which is a method for introducing solids to babies around 6 months old, should not be confused with ‘Child led weaning‘, which means allowing a child to determine when they stop breastfeeding.
